The former Zanu PF leader was addressing local and international journalists Sunday ahead of Monday’s elections.

“I don’t think the electoral commission could be captured by anyone no. I don’t believe it,” Mugabe said in response to questions from reporters.
Asked if he was aware of opposition protests against ZEC ahead of Monday’s elections, the 94-year-old played the opposition allegations as political posturing.
“I have just read that in the newspaper, but I thought these were political views being expressed by people who wanted things to be proper,” he said.
